What Makes a Methodist?
Asking the question “What is a Christian?” is asking the most important question of all.
Worship
The Church exists to increase awareness of God’s presence and to celebrate God’s love.
Learning & Caring
The Church exists to help people grow and learn as Christians, through mutual support and care.
Service
The Church exists to be a good neighbour to people in need and to challenge injustice.
Evangelism
The Church exists to make more followers of Jesus Christ.
What makes Methodist Distinctive?
While we share the core Christian faith with all denominations, Methodism places special emphasis on certain elements:
All Are Welcome
A belief that no one is beyond the reach of God’s love and that God’s love is for everybody, not a chosen few.
Social Action
A major emphasis on Social Action and fighting for fairness & justice in each person’s own local community and throughout the world.

Ephesians 4: 2-6
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
